2018 promises to be one of the most exciting years in our history!
In January we debut at the prestigious Mozartwoche in Salzburg together with the soprano Anna Lucia Richter. In February, we travel to China and Hong Kong for the first time. At the beginning of March we are embarking on our European tour playing Schubert symphonies under the baton of René Jacobs. This is the start of a long project: in the course of the next few years we shall be performing and recording all of Schubert's symphonies for the Pentatone label!
In April, we are reprising our successful adaptation of the St. John Passion, And You Must Suffer, this time at the Opera of Rouen in France. Bach's Hohe Messe is scheduled for May and we shall be joining forces with the famous Balthasar-Neumann Chor conducted by Ivor Bolton. In between times, we shall also be performing Earth Diver again at the Operadagen in Rotterdam. In June, we are off to Russia for the first time, with stops in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
And that's not all: the fall of 2018 is devoted to contemporary dance. At the invitation of no one less than Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (Rosas) and under the musical direction of violinist Amandine Beyer, we shall be working on all of Bach's six Brandenburg Concerti. After a première series in Berlin, we travel to New York and Lisbon. In November, Mozart's Requiem is on the programme, when we shall be joined by the Nederlands Kamerkoor. And to end 2018, we are once again presenting a special Christmas programme.
Have we already mentioned that 2018 will be a year to look forward to?
