B'Rock Orchestra

Join Jeanine De Bique and B’Rock Orchestra as they tell the story of the goddess of love, Venus. Through a selection spanning a century of baroque repertoire from all across Europe, we’ll experience a program tailored to De Bique’s mesmerizing voice and B’Rock’s vibrant energy, carefully curated by Yannis François.

From the seductive melodies of Rameau, Purcell, and Handel to (re)discoveries by composers like Desmarest, Sarro, Legrenzi, Pepusch and Porsile, each piece breathes life into the timeless tale of Venus.

We begin with Lully’s royal ballet, La naissance de Vénus, as Jeanine De Bique embodies the essence of the goddess, from a smitten lover enraptured by Adonis to the object of Paris’ fateful judgment. Prepare to revel in her divine presence and the mischievous an-cs of her son Cupid in a heavenly match.

Performance scores (except Händel and Rameau) provided by Editions Charybde & Scylla – Yannis François
