Celebrating 10 years of B'Rock
B’Rock has been in existence for ten years. To celebrate, the orchestra is pulling out all the stops, with its concertmaster Rodolfo Richter at the helm. Bach’s first Brandenburg concerto and Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks together form a double declaration of love to the baroque orchestra in its most colourful regalia. Like Handel’s spectacular suite, Heinichen’s Serenata di Moritzburg is also a feast for the brass and woodwinds. While the continuo players can indulge themselves in a sonata by Pasquini, the violinists have their moment of glory in Karel Goeyvaerts’ Zang van Aquarius. And the lively suite from Rameau’s lyrical comedy Platée makes it clear that laughter is not forbidden in this orchestra. This anniversary party is a reward for the passion shown by a unique orchestra for musical milestones and exciting discoveries and for uninhibited dialogue between old and new. Ten years of B’Rock means ten years of renewal and rejuvenation in early music. And now on to the next decade.
