The Operadagen Rotterdam hosts B’Rock with a special project: Die Jahreszeiten . This oratorio of Joseph Haydn is brought to you in a staged version. Scenery, acting, costumes and 18 metre wide video projections add an extra dimension to Haydn’s masterly music and Van Swieten’s lyrical texts. In the story, an ode to nature, a tenant, his daughter and a young farmer sing the praises of the seasons. These times of global warming and natural disasters shed a different light on the subject. With subtitle ‘Es gibt keine Jahreszeiten mehr?’ B’Rock and Opera O.T. directors Mirjam Koen and Gerrit Timmers pursue an answer to the question whether the seasons and all hope are lost…
