B'Rock Orchestra & Evgeny Sviridov
B’Rock Orchestra sheds new light on the rococo music of the early 18th century. Among other things, you will hear how the bassoon, then greatly improved, shines as a solo instrument. You will also discover music by composers almost forgotten today, such as Dutchman Willem de Fesch, Fleming Henri-Jacques de Croes, and Czech František Jiránek – probably a pupil of Antonio Vivaldi.
Under the direction of concertmaster Evgeny Sviridov, who also plays the solo part in De Croes’ violin concertos, the transition from the Baroque period to the early classical era comes alive, and these compositions are given their rightful place alongside the works of greats such as Arcangelo Corelli and Georg Friedrich Handel.
