Like the gentle rustling of wings, music whispers through the air. The flight of an angel? Throughout the ages, the human spirit has sought connection with messengers from otherworldly realms — bearers of wisdom, admonition, retribution, or solace.

In a program full of captivating twists and turns, B’Rock brings together its Vocal Consort and chamber players with the extraordinary French mezzo Lucile Richardot. Seraphim mixes sounds from the early Middle Ages all the way to the present day. Hildegard von Bingen’s ode to the Creator echoes in Gubaidulina’s Engel on poetry by Else Lasker-Schüler, lush Romantic opulence by Louise Farrenc and Lili Boulanger glows side by side with baroque splendor from the Italian convents.

This production was realized with the support of the Tax Shelter measure of the Belgian Federal Government through Flanders Tax Shelter.
