Growing up in wild and windy Newfoundland (Canada), Ellie saw the violin on Sharon Lois & Bram’s TV Show which was a children musical group from Toronto. “From then on I really wanted to learn to play.” She moved to Belgium for an internship and put a lot of effort into learning to speak Flemish. On her violin she really likes “the grain of the wood near the F-holes.” Whenever nerves occur before a show, she tries to catch a smile from a colleague.
One of her favourite B’Rock productions was one where she sat in the audience: the premiere of the Six Brandenburg Concertos at the Volksbühne in Berlin. “It was a beautiful venue and great performance!”
