Jean-Philippe picked up the clarinet at the age of 8 so he could join the fanfare in his home town of Jemelle, a small village in the Ardennes. He always feels some excitement right before a concert: “it’s mainly the eagerness to play, but also stress. You need that to stay alert and concentrated.”
He recalls his very first production with B’Rock: Die Schöpfung. “It’s a great memory. I love the role of the clarinet, and the overture is astonishing. This was also the very first time I played under the baton of René”. Returning from a tour, Jean-Phillipe always has an irresistible desire to cook. “At home, they’re all very happy with that!”
