Growing up in Los Angeles, Rebecca didn’t enjoy the city or the cars, but loved the surrounding nature. She began playing the piano at the age of 7 and later switched to cello. “I love how the cello functions together with the harpsichord/organ/bass/lute as part of a larger instrument, the basso continuo”. She still gets nervous when playing a solo concert. One way she deals with this is doing jumping jacks – “preferably off-stage.”
Rebecca finds it enriching to play with B’Rock because “the orchestra offers numerous programmes of contemporary music performed on Baroque instruments. And you never quite know what to expect with each project. There’s almost always something unconventional going on, which is an accomplishment after being established so long”.
