Augsburger Domsingknaben & B'Rock Orchestra
Bach’s St John Passion is direct, dramatic and intensely human. The story moves at a remarkable pace, from the arrest of Jesus to his trial and crucifixion, with the crowd and the disciples drawn into the action. Between the scenes, Bach’s chorales and arias bring moments of reflection and intimacy.
For this performance, B’Rock joins forces again with Stefan Steinemann and the Augsburger Domsingknaben, after our collaboration in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. The choir’s distinctive sound is at the heart of the performance, with some of its young singers also taking on solo parts, bringing together the vivid drama of Bach’s score and the particular character of this remarkable choir.
This production is realized with the support of the Tax Shelter measure of the Belgian Federal Government through Flanders Tax Shelter.
