MOZART PROJECT #2

After completing a successful tour with pianist Alexander Melnikov last season, B’Rock are currently implementing the second part of their Mozart project. Once again, they will be calling on a top young musician to lend a hand. This year it will be the much-praised Christian Poltéra, whose ‘effortless playing’ was remarked on by Gramophone Magazine. The celebrated countertenor Bejun Mehta will be making his worldwide conducting debut with this richly contrasting programme. He will be leading B’Rock through Mozart’s 29th Symphony and Haydn’s Trauer Symphonie. A light-hearted divertimento for strings by Mozart will in its turn be coupled with Haydn’s First Cello Concerto, which brings out the many possible ways the instrument can be played.

In the two short videos at the bottom, you can already see these two fantastic musicians at work. Bejun Mehta is to be seen in his star part as Orlando and Christian Poltéra already demonstrates his virtuosity on the cello.

All credits to B'Rock. The orchestra has become a solid group of first-class musicians that doesn't require any overstatements anymore. The music of Mozart suits B'Rock very well.
