Dutch recorder star Lucie Horsch opens the door to the dark realm of night, where dreams merge with reality and shadows dance with silence.

The twilight path first leads past Baroque favourites such as Vivaldi’s La notte and Corelli’s Concerto grosso for Christmas Eve, before the ensemble turns to the abstract, introspective textures of composers such as Kurtág, Bartók, Zuidam and Yun.

This production is realized with the support of the Tax Shelter measure of the Belgian Federal Government through Flanders Tax Shelter.

That said, baroque music always sounds best on the recorder — especially when accompanied by an orchestra experienced in early music.
