Music concert

Bijloke Wonderland

Summerbar & Morning concert

B’Rock will present a summer evening concert, the programme for which has been put together by our musicians themselves. Hold on tight for a journey through time: from Steve Reich to Pompeo Natale, from Michio Miyagi to Joseph Haydn. The perfect anthology demonstrating just how versatile our musicians are! The next morning, five of our musicians will also be brave enough to musically accompany the sunrise and the peeping dawn at 6:43 am.

Through Darkness to the Light

The time has finally come: B’Rock plays Beethoven

Alessandro De Marchi leaves the world of early music for what it is and explores the universe of Beethoven’s early romanticism together with B’Rock. On the program are two of his symphonies: the second and the fifth.

Music concert

Judas Maccabaeus

Handel’s indestructible oratorio

Artistic family member Bart Naessens leads the choir and orchestra with unwavering drive through Handel’s indestructible Judas Maccabaeus. You needn’t look far to learn why the work is one of Handel’s most acclaimed oratorios and strikes the right note time and time again.

The Six Brandenburg Concertos

A performance in aural and physical dimensions

Since the 80s, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has continued to revisit Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. In his six concerti grossi, Bach deploys the instruments of the baroque orchestra in different, often audacious constellations.

Music concert

Orpheus

Telemann at his most sensitive

It feels a bit like coming home: René Jacobs conducting B’Rock, in a grand Baroque vocal repertoire piece no less. This time they encounter one another in the poignant myth of Orpheus, who is unable to save his beloved Eurydice from the underworld. In Telemann’s hands, the tragedy could just as well bear the title “Orpheus, Eurydice and Orasia”

Music concert

Essential Bach

Surrendering completely to Bach

The hits of the grandmaster pass in review: the Double Violin Concerto (two solo violins never formed such a perfect unity), Suite No. 3, BWV 1068 (hard not to whistle along with the Air), and two of the Brandenburg Concertos (world famous highlights of Baroque orchestral music).

Music Theatre

Madrigals

Utopian enthusiasm by Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe

A multifaceted choir no longer sings with the wind, but goes back to a formless beginning, where all the meanings of love and conflict can still take shape.

Muziekconcert

Antwerp Requiem

Groundbreaking masses by Philippus van Steelant

B’Rock and cantoLX bring the splendour of yesteryear back to life, through Philippus van Steelant. In the mid-17th century, he was not only a composer but also an organist at St. James’ Church in Antwerp. His masses were groundbreaking for the requiem genre at the time.

Music Theatre

PASSIO

Scarlatti's St. John's Passion

In the music theatre project PASSIO, we meet ‘modern characters of the Bible’ who have become exemplary or iconic – their suffering being both heartbreaking and vital to remember.

Music concert

Stabat Mater through the ages

Four masterpieces of sorrow

The medieval poem Stabat Mater captured the heartbreaking scene for eternity and propelled artists to their best, most sensitive and lived art. Together with B’Rock, you will dive into the formidable Stabat Mater repertoire, four masterpieces of which find their place on the music stand.

Music concert

Tradition with Bach

The St John Passion (Johann Sebastian Bach, BWV 245) performed by Benno Schachtner.

Music concert
