Ortwin Lowyck

Ortwin sees himself as energetic, easy going and a perfectionist. He grew up in the coastal town of Ostend in Belgium and loved it there. He began playing the violin at the age of 6. “The violin is such a versatile instrument. You can keep on experimenting and trying to find different effects. I like to try to get as close to the human voice as possible”. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is undoubtedly his favourite piece. “It was the first recording I heard as a kid. I remember watching a video recording of Nigel Kennedy playing this piece and I always dreamed of doing the same thing one day.”

For him, B’Rock brings together all that is good: “friendship, professionalism, amazing soloists and artistic directors. I never played a concert with B’Rock that did not inspire me”.
