René Jacobs

As a singer, conductor, scholar, and teacher, René Jacobs has achieved an eminent position in the field of Baroque and Classical vocal music. Under his baton, B’Rock Orchestra has become one of the most sought-after orchestras for Baroque opera. The collaboration led to many great opera projects such as Orlando by Handel, Alceste by Gluck, Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria by Monteverdi and Il Primo Omidicio by Scarlatti.

In recent years, B’Rock and René Jacobs have embarked on an epic symphonic journey: a complete recording of Schubert’s symphonies for Pentatone. In the 2021-2022 season, we will proudly present the rarely performed Orpheus by Telemann in a semi-staged concert version. And we will be opening a new chapter in our symphonic explorations with the works of Felix Mendelssohn.
